I was hoping to get some attention on an issue. Toronto’s TTC (transit commission) is providing free wifi in underground subway stations. Previously you just had to click a connect button. Just before the holidays they switched to requiring a Twitter login to connect. It requires giving the app permission to see your tweets.
I haven’t done any research yet to see if anyone has already objected, but I feel like this is a great advocacy opportunity in Toronto. Also figured perhaps Toronto employees might already know what’s up or already be involved.
